Cross Canada Report
So, taken a page out of Spencer and Jen's book, I thought I'd offer to my out of province readers the opportunity to pontificate on our SU Elections (which will be taking place Wednesday and Thursday this week, get out and vote you U of A Readers). So, same rule as Bond's blog. Information can be found here. Using only that, who would you vote for? (Insiders are welcome to comment as to who they're voting for as well).

Oh Spencer, you're such a jaded old SU hack :P Here are my picks:
President: I'm going for Greg German on this one. I've had dealings with the other candidate and am less than convinced that she could bring the Union in a forward direction without alienating a lot of the student body in the process.
VP Academic: So, I guess Amanda could od a good job, she seems to be the only one who cares enough to actually run. I'm not really impressed by her platform though, there's nothing really dynamic or new in it.
VP External: Blythe "believes" in a lot...but I don't see a demonstration of much knowledge. Dave and Damini seem pretty evenly matched, but if pushed I think I'd probably vote for Dave as he seems to have just a bit more of that raw passion.
VP Op-Fi: Theresa Chapman is the clear choice here. She demonstrates a realistic take on what the position can actually acheive and obviously has extensive knowledge of the financial issues surrounding the SU.
VP Student life: Amanda-Leigh seems to have no concept of what VP SL does, has anyone told her she should be running for External or something wit ha platform like that? I really likes Sarah's talk of helping students facilitate their own initiatives, so she gets my vote.
BoG: Chris Samuels...there has to be a debater on BoG at the UofA, doesn't there?!
P.A.C: "Inside sources" tell me I should vote no.
Smoking Ban: For all the good it's going to do (I'm not quite sure how they plan to enforce this...) I vote Yes.
